First of all, a discharge summary from the hospital is necessary. Along with that are medical bills, prescriptions, and diagnostic reports. In addition to these, payment receipts, and a duly filled claim form are also essential.

After an emergency situation, OneAssure has to be notified within 48 hours of hospital admission.This is the time OneAssure needs to get in touch with the hospital and the insurance company for concerted VIP approval. If it is a non-network hospital, do not forget to gather all the original documents for your reimbursement claim.

9. Is there a waiting period before I can make a claim?

Yes, and the initial one is 30 days for most policies, with the exception of accidents. The waiting period for pre-existing conditions is significantly longer and can be anywhere from 2 to 4 years depending on your plan.

10. What happens if my claim gets rejected?

If a claim is denied, you’ll receive a written explanation. You can raise a claim appeal with Niva Bupa’s grievance cell or escalate it to the insurance ombudsman if needed.
