Does Optima Super Secure provide 5X cover immediately from the first day?

Secure Benefit increases the effective cover to 3X of the base sum insured from day one. The full advertised 5X structure depends on the Plus Benefit accumulating over two policy years and the Restore Benefit being available under the applicable claim conditions.

If I make a claim in the first year, will I lose the Plus Benefit?

No. Plus Benefit increases the base sum insured by 50% after completion of the first policy year and up to 100% after the second, irrespective of claims, subject to continuous renewal and policy conditions.

Can I use the restored amount for the same illness again?

The policy wording allows restored sum insured to be used for the same illness or another covered illness, subject to admissibility and the plan’s conditions. Any unused restored amount does not carry forward to the next policy year.

Will my existing medical condition be covered if I disclose it when applying?

Disclosure does not guarantee immediate coverage. Pre-existing diseases are subject to underwriting, acceptance and the applicable waiting period, generally 36 months unless the policy schedule specifies an approved modification.

If I choose a higher room category than allowed by my policy schedule, can deductions apply?

Yes. If the selected room exceeds the category or limit stated in the policy schedule, proportionate deductions may apply to room rent and associated medical expenses, subject to the policy wording.

Does Protect Benefit mean every non-medical hospital expense is covered?

No. Protect Benefit applies to specified non-medical expenses listed in the policy wording. Expenses outside the eligible list or excluded under the policy may not be payable.

Is the aggregate deductible the same as a co-payment?

No. An aggregate deductible is an amount you must bear during the policy year before applicable coverage begins. A co-payment, where applicable, requires you to pay a specified percentage of an admissible claim. Check your policy schedule for the terms that apply.
