Does this policy cover medical bills inside the hospital, or only payouts for disability?

y default, a personal accident policy is designed for cash payouts following major accidental outcomes (Death or Permanent Disablement). However, this specific Aditya Birla plan gives you highly flexible optional add-on covers. You can choose to add Accidental In-patient Hospitalization, which covers actual hospital bills up to ₹1 Lakh (or 1% of your sum insured), and Accidental Medical Expenses to take care of everyday outpatient (OPD) clinic visits and minor bone fracture treatments.

Is there a waiting period before I can make an accident claim?

No. Unlike regular health insurance plans that make you wait 30 days for illnesses or up to 3 years for pre-existing conditions, personal accident cover has zero waiting periods. Your safety net is active from Minute 1 of your policy issuance.

What happens to my children's future if both parents meet with a fatal accident?

This is where the plan’s built-in family safeguards kick in. It features a critical Orphan Benefit and an Education Fund. If an unfortunate accident results in the demise of both parents, the policy pays out an additional lump sum of up to 10% of the Sum Insured (capped at ₹15 Lakhs) directly to secure the surviving children's education and basic living needs, independent of standard claim payouts.

Does the plan offer any support if I need to modify my house or car after a physical disability?

Yes. If an accidental injury leads to a permanent total disability that requires you to adapt your lifestyle—such as installing a wheelchair ramp at home or modifying your vehicle's controls—the policy provides a dedicated Modification Benefit.
