Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has secured a historical milestone for earning a Guinness World Record title for selling the most number of life insurance policies in 24 hours. This achievement was accomplished on 20 January 2025, where 4,52,839 LIC agents collectively issued 5,88,107 insurance policies across India, as stated by the company. Guinness World Record officially verified this achievement, which sets a new global benchmark for agent productivity in the life insurance industry within a single day, PTI reported. “This monumental effort is a powerful validation in the relentless dedication, skill and tireless work ethics of our agents. This achievement reflects our deep commitment towards our mission to provide vital financial protection to our customers and families”, the statement noted. LIC MD & CEO, Siddhartha Mohanty, led the initiative named as ‘Mad Million Day’, in an appeal to every agent to complete at least one policy on 20 January 2025. Mohanty thanked all the insurance buyers, agents, and all those who were involved in making the initiative ‘Mad Million Day’ a grand success.
